Andrew Joseph Grey Jr., “Tasunka Sapa Toka Heya” (First Black Horse) age 43, of Waubay, South Dakota Journeyed to the Spirit World on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at The Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, North Dakota.

He was born on March 31, 1971 in Sisseton, South Dakota to Andrew J. Grey Sr. and Brenda L. Shepherd Grey.

Andrew grew up in Waubay, South Dakota. He attended school in Waubay and Job Corp in Kicking Horse, Montana for heavy equipment machinery. He met Cheryl Decoteau and they started their own construction Business. He then graduated from carpentry class at The Sisseton Wahpeton Community College. Andrew enjoyed working with horses, beading and spending time with his family and friends. He also liked to play the guitar and sing, camp out at Enemy Swim Lake and going to The Shepherd Bay area with his horse.

Survived by his father: Andrew Joseph Grey Sr .; his mother: Brenda Lois Shepherd-Grey; a sister: Danielle Grey; a brother: Christian Grey; sons: Justin Ray Grey, Andrew Joseph Grey III, Wyatt Ishmael Grey and Hunter Tanner Grey; a daughters: Leta Lynn Grey, Andrea Rose Grey-Maag and Jaclene Grey; grandchildren: Kaylee Angiolelli, Adrian Angiolelli, Gerald Angiolelli III, Scott Maag Jr. and Brooklyn Maag; Special Friend: Cheryl Decoteau; other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by a sister: Candace Hope Grey, and uncles: Henry Shepherd & Jerry Shepherd, grandparents: Ishmael Shepherd, Viola Shepherd and Agnes & Phillip Grey.

Funeral services for Andrew Joseph Grey Jr. will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Eagles Wings Church in Old Agency Village, South Dakota. Reverend Jerome Renville and Luke Renville Assistant Pastor will officiate.

Special music by Hildy Rodlund and Franklin Keeble.

Interment will follow at Eagles Wings Cemetery in Peever, South Dakota.

An all night wake will be held on Sunday, October 12th, 2014 beginning at 7:00 P.M. at The Eagles Wings Church in Old Agency Village, South Dakota.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Karen Renville, Cindy Shepherd, Cheryl Decoteau, Brenda Redday, Louie Decoteau, Clarice Stone, Hildreth Rodlund, Desirae Barse, David Seaboy and all of his family and friends.

Casket Bearers will be Corey Shepherd, Silas Shepherd, Travis Shepherd, Canaan Renville, Raymond “Sonny” Bearhill, Robert Grey Eagle and Leslie “Gummer” Decoteau.
