NOMINATIONS BEING ACCEPTED FOR RED LAKE NATION COLLEGE (RLNC) BOARD OF DIRECTORS

TWO, FOUR (4) YEAR TERM, RLNC BOARD MEMBER POSITIONS:

• ONE, 4 YEAR TERM BOARD MEMBER FROM THE RED LAKE DISTRICT.

• ONE, 4 YEAR TERM BOARD MEMBER FROM THE PONEMAH DISTRICT.

NOMINATION TIMELINE:

• Nominations for these two Board positions will be accepted for 4 weeks from Wednesday, October 15, 2014, to Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at 3pm.

• All applicants must meet the following basic qualifications as required in the approved Red Lake Nation College Charter and By-Laws:

a) Each candidate for membership will demonstrate a long term interest in education and job training.

b) Each candidate for membership will demonstrate a high degree of ethical standards and community service.

c) Each candidate for membership will be an enrolled member in the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians.

d) All candidates for membership will have successfully completed 48 semester hours at the post-secondary level unless waived by the Board of Regents.

e) Each candidate for membership shall have at least a general knowledge of post-secondary education.

f) Each candidate for membership, excluding the student representative, will be at least twenty-five years of age.

g) Two (2) members of the Board of Regents shall be appointed from each of the four (4) districts of the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Also, the Red Lake Nation College student, who is elected annually as the President of the Student Council of the Red Lake Nation College, shall sit on the Board of Regents as a non-voting member.

• To apply, please submit the attached application, a cover letter, CV or resume, and a summary of how you meet or exceed the required qualifications for the items listed above. Also, clearly state which district you are from – either Red Lake or Ponemah.
