PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

To provide general receptionist/clerical services for Red Lake Vocational Rehabilitation. This position does not have supervisory responsibility, reports to Director, full-time position w/benefits, salary: DOQ.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet the general public, routes visitors and all incoming phone calls to proper personnel

• Assist consumers in use of tele-fax operations

• Access to client files to complete data entry into the Statistical Management Program relating to individual consumer profile, status progression and employment achievement.

• Receive from Counseling staff the case service obligation reports to process accordingly and track total case service expenditures data by individual consumer. (Each Counselor tracks their assigned Quarterly budget for financial accountability).

• Prepares reports of statistical and case service obligations in final format to use for internal management.

• Makes necessary contacts with Supervisors to receive time and attendance reports for all consumers to record in consumer profile.

• Analyzes and provides recommendations to the Project Director for change in forms to improve work flow efficiency and maintains supply of forms needed

• Performs other light clerical duties as assigned while maintaining strict compliance with confidentiality requirements.

• Keeps main office area neat and orderly.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Minnesota Drivers License and current auto insurance.

• High school diploma and five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to read and interpret documents, such as personnel policy and service guidelines

• Demonstrated knowledge in commercial software programs including Word, Excel and data base programming

• Knowledge in the operation of various office machines.

• Demonstrated knowledge in human service systems commonly used by people with disabilities, cross-disability communication mannerisms as well as a working knowledge of medical, social and psychological aspects of disabilities.

• MUST maintain strict confidentiality requirements at all times.

• Zero tolerance for drug, alcohol and substance abuse in the workplace (according to the Tribal policy and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973), which subjects all staff to random drug testing.
