Roger Alan Neadeau Sr.

Roger Alan Neadeau Sr. born in Red Lake, Mn April 17, 1948, passed onto the spirit world September 7, 2014 following a short illness. A wake will begin Friday September 12, 2014 at the Little Rock community center at 3:00 p.m. until the funeral service to be held on Saturday September 13, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Lake at 9:00 a.m. Roger wished to be cremated and burial will be in the Neadeau family burial grounds.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents Peter Neadeau Jr. and Theresa Stately Neadeau along with six brothers Elwyn, Adrian, Albert, Byron, Darwin and Donald and a grandson. Roger is survived by two sons Roger (Carla) Neadeau Jr., Cherokee, North Carolina and Alexander Neadeau, Red Lake; and five daughters Jennifer Hanks, Minneapolis; Laci Martin, Red Lake; Theresa Neadeau, Oxnard, California; Xiomara (Gabe) Lopez, Camarillo, California; and Susan Neadeau, Red Lake; granddaughter and 15 grandchildren, three sisters Susan (Dan) Ninham, Red Lake; Merri (Verdell) Neadeau, Red Lake; Arlene Neadeau, Bemidji; two brothers Pete Neadeau, Bemidji; Robert (Kathy) Neadeau, Red Lake and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roger is known for his award winning birch bark basketry and the time he spent carving diamond willow walking sticks. Roger enjoyed demonstrating to kids or whomever wanted to know how to gather birch bark, red willow and basswood from the land to use and make birch bark baskets. He loved going to the casino.

Honorary pallbearers will be Archie King, Francis and Georgia Boyer, Bob Whipple, John Paiz and Melvin May. Active Pallbearers will be his nephews, cousins and friends.
