Glenford Walking Eagle Sr., age 65, of Minneapolis Journeyed to the Spirit World on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Hennepin County Medical Center.

He was born on December 28, 1948 in Spring Creek, Rosebud Reservation, the son of Harvey Walking Eagle and Pearl White Hat.

He married Carrie Makes Room for Them.

Glenford was formerly employed at Temp Service in North Minneapolis.

He enjoyed going to Pow wows, Country Music, playing horse shoes, riding horses, bullriding, playing dominos and cards. Glenford loved spending time with his family and grandkids. He was an outdoorsman. Glenford was an auto mechanic and liked to work on cars.

Survived by his wife: Carrie Walking Eagle; sons: Glenford Walking Eagle Jr. and Wilbur Walking Eagle; daughters: Beverly Walking Eagle, Gaila Walking Eagle and Gwen Walking Eagle; twenty four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Glenford Walking Eagle Sr. will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 12 Noon at The Spring Creek Gym in Spring Creek, South Dakota.

Interment will follow at The Walking Eagle Family Cemetery in Spring Creek, South Dakota.

All night wakes will be held on Monday, September 8th beginning at 6:30 P.M. at The Church of Gichitwaa Kateri in Minneapolis until 9:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 9th. Further all night wakes Tuesday, September 9th and Wednesday, September 10th at The Spring Creek Gym.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Francis Kills in Water, Sylvan White Hat, Darwin Walking Eagle, Rodney Bordeoux, Prugh Jose Jr., Tilus Brown, Truyshawn Jose, Donovan Walking Eagle and Peter White Jr.

Casket Bearers will be Joseph Sandaval, Ron Brown, Tyrell Spears, Desi Walking Eagle, Wambli Jose, Sam High Crane, Frank Make Room for Them, Glenford Walking Eagle Jr. and Josey Sandaval.
