JOB OPENING

Position: Janitor/Maintenance

Purpose: Responsible for the performance of maintenance repairs and daily sterilizing of the facility.

Responsibilities:

1. Experience in maintaining minor repairs of a residential facility.

2. Ability to perform sterilization of a facility on a daily shift basis.

3. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

4. Must be self-directed and accountable in performing a variety of tasks.

5. Good communication and organizational skills in ordering supplies and minor repairs.

6. Knowledge of video surveillance systems.

7. Must be able to clean and change air filters monthly of furnaces.

8. Conduct daily house checks to ensure repairs, safety and health standards are met.

9. Assist in stocking food shelves and donations.

10. Ensure the shelter facility is clean and sterilized on a consistent basis.

11. Provide sterilization of children's playroom on a weekly basis.

12. Complete sterilization of resident rooms after departure.

13. Monitor and provide oil change and service repairs for program vehicles.

14. Maintain and up-date inventory of all shelter equipment, furnishings and office equipment.

15. Must be willing to gain education and knowledge of domestic violence and the effects on families.

16. Must be able to adhere to the Data Privacy Act; confidentiality.

17. Willingness to provide team-work in children's activities, groups and community awareness events provided by Advocate's is a plus.

18. Must be able to complete required chores in a communal-living setting.

19. Willingness to work co-operatively in the engaging men program is a plus.

20. Other duties as assigned.

 Must have a valid driver's license.

 Must be able to pass a background check with no domestic violence convictions.

 Must be willing to complete a drug/alcohol test.
