Man attempts to abduct girl, 14, on Manitoba First Nation

A 14-year-old girl managed to escape after a man attempted to pull her into a pickup truck Thursday on a Manitoba First Nation, RCMP said.

The girl was walking alone in the Rossville, Man. area of Norway House Cree Nation when a dark-coloured Dodge truck pulled up next to her.

The driver, a man wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs hat, then attempted to abduct the victim.

The victim fled to safety nearby, RCMP said.

Norway House RCMP are investigating and ask anyone with details related to the incident to call RCMP at 204-359-6483 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
