JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: Resident Services Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for functioning as the liaison between the tenants/applicants and the Red Lake Housing Authority in ensuring compliance with all dwelling leases/homeownership agreements and other documents. This position will work with tenants/applicants in all four districts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists in conducting orientation of Housing policies for new tenants.

2. Records incoming tenant work orders and distributes to Maintenance for completion.

3. Reviews new tenant certification and annual recertification materials for compliance.

4. Drafts letters to tenants regarding the lease, safety information and tenant responsibility.

5. Encodes tenant information into computer system and maintains tenant files.

6. Provides advice and referrals to tenants about available community services or agencies.

7. Conducts safety and general informational meetings to enhance tenant living conditions and conducts home visits when there are lease violations.

8. Provides housing applications and maintains housing waiting lists.

9. Maintains library of safety books, tapes and materials.

10. Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and two years post secondary education. Equivalent years of successful work experience in the human resources or community service field may be accepted in lieu of education.

Must have excellent organizational skills. Must work in harmony with others.

Must be a self starter and be able to work independently as various projects require.

Must report promptly to the duty station each and every day and use discretion in the amount of personal leave used.

Must have a valid driver's license and personal auto insurance.

Must have excellent oral, written, and listening skills and maintain confidentiality.

Must be available to travel to a minimum of two trainings per year.

Salary will be based on qualifications. Applications can be picked up at the Red Lake Reservation Housing Authority Office and will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. August 12, 2014.
