Gerald Dean Kingbird, 40, of Red Lake, MN, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in Bemidji, MN. Traditional Indian Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN with Spiritual Leader Steven Jackson, officiating. A wake will begin Friday, July 25, 2014 in the afternoon at the Boys and Girls Club and will continue until the service. Burial will be in the Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN. Cease Funeral Home of Blackduck assisted the family with arrangements.

Active Pallbearers will be Elliot Cloud, Donald Good, Jr., Eric Whitefeather, Shane Stillday, Darrell Seki, Jr. and Darrick Seki. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gerald Raisch, Jr. and his nephews.

He was born on April 30, 1974 in Bemidji, MN to Jack Kingbird, Sr. and Lucille (Downfeather) Kingbird. He enjoyed singing and Pow-Wowing, fishing, hunting and pulling all-nighters at the casino. He is survived by his significant other, Lisa Ducheneaux; a daughter, Linnea Kingbird of Minneapolis; a son, Khalil Tyler of Red Lake; brothers, Jack Kingbird of International Falls, Spencer Whitefeather of Nary, Harold Kingbird and Willard Kingbird, both of Bemidji, Curtis Kingbird of Redby and Darrell Kingbird of Red Lake; sisters, Doris Kingbird of Red Lake, Phyllis Kingbird of Ponemah and Donna Lewis of Thief River Falls and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lucille Kingbird; brothers, Edmund and Ronald Kingbird; a sister, Stephanie Caldwell and a niece, Lucynda Caldwell.
