10 Full Scholarships Available for Individuals Working in Native Senior Hunger & Nutrition

General Information:

Thanks to generous funding from AARP Foundation [ http://www.aarp.org/aarp-foundation/ ], First Nations Development Institute (First Nations [ http://www.firstnations.org ]) is pleased to announce the availability of 10 scholarships for individuals working in areas of access to food and nutrition among senior populations in Native American communities. We invite applicants from tribal governments/programs, nonprofit organizations and community groups.

If selected as a scholarship recipient, organizational representatives will:

Attend the 19th Annual First Nations L.E.A.D. Institute Conference [ https://www.regonline.com/builder/site/Default.aspx?EventID=1575552 ] at the Tulalip Resort Casino in Tulalip, Wash., September 25 & 26, 2014. Recipients also MUST attend a pre-conference session on September 24, 2014, also at Tulalip Resort Casino. The pre-conference session will be an interactive and facilitated session focused on developing effective strategies to end senior hunger in Native American communities.

Application:

Space for participation is limited to 10 scholarships. To be considered, participants must complete the online application form. This application for participation must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. Mountain Time on Thursday, August 6, 2014. Selection:

Notification will be sent by August 15, 2014. If selected, First Nations will cover airfare, registration fees, meals on days of travel, meals not covered during the conference itself, and other reasonable travel-related incidentals.

NOTE: First Nations' online system will shut down automatically at 5 p.m. Mountain Time on August 6 and no further data or information can be entered. Please plan accordingly. Waiting until the last hour is not recommended as your proposal must be completed by 5 p.m. Mountain Time. No other format will be accepted for submission, and applications not submitted by the deadline will not be considered. No exceptions.
