William Raymond Mitchell, age 57 of Ponemah, MN, died on July 14, 2014 at the Bell Hill Recovery Center in Wadena. William was born in Minneapolis, on December 18, 1956 to Elizabeth (Stillday) Seki. He was later adopted by Paul and Rae Mitchell of Isle, MN

William "Bill" enjoyed hunting and fishing, drawing wildlife pictures, going to the casino to play slots, listening to music, playing bingo with the elders at the nursing home, watching TV and playing cribbage with his friends. William was always a positive happy person, he enjoyed making new friends and was well liked by all who knew him. William was a very frugal man and prided himself in saving his money. William returned to his homeland Red Lake Nation in 2008, which enabled him to spend time with his family members. When William was a young boy he had a Shetland pony which he prided himself in taking care of.

William was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Seki, adopted parents Paul and Rae Mitchell, brothers; Ronald Seki and Pat Mitchell, sister; Karen Seki, uncle; Robert Stillday, grandparents; David and Alice Stillday and his grandmother Minnie Stillday.

Bill is survived by his brothers; Darrell (Doris) Seki, Sr. of Ponemah, Richard Seki of Montevideo, Robert and Gary Seki both of Minneapolis, sister; Aurelia Nelson of Edmond, OK, adopted sisters Donna, Lois and Ann all of Isle, MN, numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives.

A wake service for William will begin at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 18, 2014 and continue until the 12:00 p.m. service on Saturday, July 19, all at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah. Spiritual leader will be Steve Jackson. Pallbearers will be his immediate family and friends. Interment will in the Stillday Family Burial Grounds at Ponemah immediately following the service.
