Annette Oshie

(September 28, 1937 - July 13, 2014)

Annette Oshie, 76, of Bemidji passed away on Sunday, July 13th, 2014. She was born in White Earth, MN on September 28, 1937 to the late George Sargent and Sophia Bellanger. Annette was one of 11 brothers and sisters. She graduated from Warroad High School and later went on to attend nursing school at Haskell Indian Nations University. She was married to the late Alvin "Buster" Oshie.

Annette was a very loving and compassionate person. She demonstrated these characteristics of her spirit through her passion for family and career in Nursing and Social Work . In her relentless pursuit to help others first, she effected the lives of many. At home, family was always the number one priority. She raised, and helped raised numerous children. Instilling her core values of love, compassion, and humility to help her family grow with her teachings. Her spirit was truly a blessing to those that were around her. She is loved, and will be missed dearly by many.

Annette is survived by her sons Mark Oshie, Kevin (Julie), and Jeff (Carla) Leecy. Grandchildren Jenna and Landon Oshie, Sean Dorr, Alyssa, Ciara, Marissa, Cali, Tiana, and Kevin Leecy. Great Grandchildren Kaden Oshie, James, and Adriana Leecy. She is preceded in death by Father George Sargent, Mother Sophia Bellanger, Husband Alvin "Buster" Oshie, and Daughter Marilyn Oshie-Dorr.

A wake will be held at Veterans Memorial Building in Cass Lake at 6 pm Thursday July 17, 2014. The funeral will take place at St. Philips Catholic Church in Bemidji, MN July 18, 2014 with Fr. Chuck Huck officiating. With visitation at noon and service at 1 pm. Burial will take place at a later time.
