Dean "Jimmy" Leroy Bruce

Dean "Jimmy" Leroy Bruce, "Oganawenimaag" (He Who Defends Them), "Nayshikaywaygahbo" (Stand Alone Man), age 48, of Minneapolis, MN journeyed to the Spirit World on June 2, 2014.

He was born on April 12, 1966 in Minneapolis, MN the son of Daniel Bruce Sr. and Donna Martin.

"Jimmy" loved all sports, especially the MN Twins and playing Texas Hold 'Em. He was a great father who enjoyed spending time with his children and family.

He is survived by his special friend Vivian Fairbanks, mother, Donna Jones, son Jarrod Keezer, daughters Autumn Bruce and Leona Fairbanks, 2 grandchildren, brothers Daniel Bruce Jr and Kevin Bruce, sisters Debra Bruce, Diana Bruce, Deana Bruce and Darla Bruce, many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Daniel Bruce Sr., nephews Josh Bruce, Jon Bruce and Brandon Roy, grandmothers Eva Lorentzen and Katherine Bruce.

Funeral service for Dean "Jimmy" Bruce will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Little Earth of United Tribes Gym, Minneapolis. Melvin "Bungi" Jones will officiate. Hoka-Hey will be the drum group.

All night wakes will begin at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Little Earth of United Tribes Gym and will continue until the time of service.

Honorary casket bearers will be Alicia Bruce, Ronni Patterson, Vicki Hollow, Connie Bruce, Terra Roy, Jenni Bruce, and Clarissa Fairbanks.

Casket bearers will be Joe Hollow, Daniel Ogema, Jacob Morris, Josh Thompson, Kevin SmokeyDay, and Troy Friend.

Alternates will be Arnoldo Bruce and Kyle Roy.

Interment Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis.
