Frank Wayne White, Sr., 63, of Cass Lake, Minnesota passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at St. Luke's Medical Center in Duluth, surrounded by his family. Frank was born in Cass Lake, Minnesota on February 20, 1951, the son of Charlie Aitken and Agnes White.

Frank grew up at Sugar Point, Minnesota. After high school he joined the U.S. Army. He was trained as a paratrooper at Fort Bragg, NC as part of the elite special forces. He was deployed to Vietnam and fought near the Ho Chi Mign Trail. He was honorably discharged from the Army in December 1970. Frank married Mary Kay in 1975. Frank attended college in Crookston for aviation and Central Lakes College for carpentry. He worked the rest of his life as a carpenter contractor and was well known for his work. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his daily visits with his sister Linda. Frank had a great sense of humor and loved teasing. His favorite pastime was listening to music and cruising with his grandson Ashton. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones and we are all honored to have had him in our lives.

Those that preceded him in death are his father Charlie, his grandfather Frank and his sister Betty Jean.

Frank leaves behind his mother; Agnes White of Sugar Point, sons; Frank (Rhonda Butcher) White, Jr. of Cass Lake and Kyle (Sarah Curtis) Folstrom of Bemidji, daughter; Jolene Northbird of Cass Lake, brothers; Alvin White of Sugar Point and Larry (Polly) Aitken of Cass Lake, sister; Linda Morris of Cass Lake and his eight grandchildren.

A wake for Frank will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2014 and continue until his 11:00 a.m. service on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 all being held at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Cass Lake, Minnesota. Pastor Mark Olson will be officiating. Franks pallbearers are Mick Finn, Gary Johnson, Ronald White, Earnest 'Big' Howard, Burton Howard, Patrick 'Plug' Northbird, Larry 'Skunk' White and Donald 'Duck' Libby. His honorary bearers are his grandchildren Brandon, Marcy Kay, Ashton Paul, Demery, Justine, Jaime, Jennica and Jaden, special nephews Austin, Curtis, Kenny, David and Dominic, special friends Mary Kay, Tamra, Janice, Paula Kay, Geri and Kim and all his other nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Battle Point Cemetery at Sugar Point, Minnesota immediately following his service.
