Abigail Serena Jones, 34, of Cass Lake passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Abigail was born on January 8, 1980 in St. Cloud, Minnesota, the daughter of Peter and Dawn Benedict.

Abi was the most giving and loving person you could ever meet. She was the type of person that when you met her it felt like you knew her forever. She spent her days as a student home advocate and was the drum and dance coordinator for the Cass Lake-Bena School. Abi enjoyed traveling, she especially like going to St. Cloud to visit her friends and family and Las Vegas was one of her favorite places to visit. She loved to sit at home and watch movies and liked to go to pow wows. Abi loved her husband and kids beyond words. She will be forever missed by those who knew her.

Those who passed on before her are her father, Peter and her godfather Rob Erickson.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband Arthur, sons; Michael and Tyler Jones, daughters; MaRissa Folstrom, Alexis Jones and Vanessa Budreau, brothers; Gabriel McDonald of California and Nicholas Benedict of Virginia, her special nephew Baby Dave and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The wake service for Abigail will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2014 and continue through the night until her funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19 all being held at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Cass Lake. The spiritual leader for Abigail will be Allen Hardy. Those helping to lay Abi to rest are her pallbearers Dave Northbird, Mark Kingbird, Sr., Joseph LeBlanc, Trysten LeBlanc, David Wind and Pat Haugen. Her honorary pallbearers are Alexandra Tanner, Berdina Kingbird, Dawn LeBlanc, Davina Curry, Mika Northbird, Sharon Cloud, Vicky Goggleye, Theresa Rojas, Yodi Blomgren, Luann Frazier, Paula Morris, Theresa Johnson Sieg, Wendy Erickson and all the staff and students from the Cass Lake-Bena Schools. Interment will be in the Prince of Peace Cemetery at Cass Lake/Mission immediately following the service.
