Clyde Whitefeather, 75, of Ponemah, MN, whose Indian name was "May-Ze-Ne-Gewa-Nay-Yaush" died on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in Bemidji, MN.

A wake will begin on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Ponemah Community Center in Ponemah, MN. Traditional services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah with Spiritual

Leader Steven Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the family burial grounds in Ponemah, MN. Cease Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Seneca Whitefeather, Howard Whitefeather, Eric Whitefeather, Bradley Weiss, Vincent Dow and Jeremiah Kingbird. Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy White, Sr., Blaine Freeman, his friends and family.

He was born Aug. 1, 1938 in Ponemah, MN to James and Rose (Blakely) Whitefeather. He attended school in Ponemah, Red Lake and later in life, graduated from North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, N.D. He

served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1956. He worked in logging and was employed for several years at T.G.L., Inc. in East Grand Forks and also worked in the Twin Cities before coming home.

His many enjoyments and hobbies included doing crossword puzzles, watching sports, especially golf and most of all, working on cars. He also helped his sister, Rose, raise his nieces and nephews, who were special to him -

Promise, Rosa, Shanna and Bradley Weiss.

He is survived by a brother, Guy Whitefeather of Ponemah; a sister, Rose Weiss of Ponemah and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; James Whitefeather, Jr., Ruth Dow, Diane Whitefeather, Tucker Downwind, Natlie Weiss and Donald Dow.
