About the Agency

This position is located at the Red Lake Service Unit in the Facilities Management Department, Maintenance Section, IHS Hospital, Red Lake, MN. The purpose of this position is to provide maintenance, preventive maintenance and craft skills in the maintenance section of Facilities Management. The position is involved in operation, maintenance and repair for a 19-bed hospital with outpatient clinic, a satellite clinic and the related buildings and grounds.

Major Duties

Operation, maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair for various buildings and utilities equipment including: low pressure steam boilers, computerized controls for the heating, ventilation and cooling system, HVAC equipment, an emergency 600 KW electrical generator with a twelve cylinder diesel engine and three transfer switches, and piped medical gases.

Provide maintenance worker services in electrical, plumbing, painting, carpenter trades.

Ground maintenance and repair of a computerized lawn sprinkler system, care of lawn and grounds, and snow and ice removal. The Maintenance Worker is in on-call status approximately every other week on a rotating basis with the other maintenance staff.

Performs other position related duties as assigned.
