Jacqueline Charmagne Fraedrich

Jacqueline C. Fraedrich, loving wife, mother, and grandmother and lifelong educator passed away peacefully at home on March 19th, 2014. She was born on July19, 1942, in Ashland, Wisconsin.

Devoted wife of 48 years to Ted, beloved mother of Rochelle and Ted (Cyndi), and proud grandmother of Grant and Devin Taschner, Ezekiel Butler, and Margaret and Henry Fraedrich.

Predeceased by her brother Charles Crowe and sister Vivian Moore. Daughter of the late Peter and Margaret Crowe.

She lived in Coon Rapids MN, formerly of Odanah WI, and was a proud member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.

She received degrees from University of Eau Claire and University of Minnesota Duluth, including a Masters in Educational Administration. Jackie served as the Lead Associate for Student Services at Robbinsdale Area Schools, as well as the Coordinator of Indian Education and Coordinator of Multicultural Education.

She was a fierce advocate for equality and justice, serving on the Plymouth Human Rights Commission, as Secretary for Migizi Communications, member of the New Hope Human Rights Commission and as member and chair of the board for Emily Grey Charter School in Minneapolis.

Fun-loving and generous Jackie will be fondly remembered by family, friends and colleagues, but most of all by her grandchildren who were her heart, and she theirs.

Friends may call at the Mountain Funeral Home, 220 Third Ave E, Ashland WI, on Sunday March 23rd from 5-8 p.m. There will be a prayer service at 7:30.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Odanah WI on Monday March 24th at 11 a.m.. Father Paul Paré, O.F.M., will be the Celebrant. Casket bearers will include: Dana Jackson, Jesse Jackson, John Jackson, Dan Jackson, Vincent Bender, and Joe Dan Rose. A feast will follow the Mass.

Interment, in the Bad River Cemetery, Odanah, will take place in the spring of 2014.

Our Ashland chapel is assisting her family with her services.
