Noreen Adele Redday, age 68, of Sisseton, SD began her Spiritual Journey on March 13, 2014, with her husband by her side. She battled heart and respiratory problems for many years.

Noreen Adele Redday (Akicita Oyate Waste Win – Good Soldier Woman, Mato Ho Waste Win – Good Bear Voice Woman) age 68, of Sisseton, South Dakota was born in Bullhead, South Dakota on September 23, 1945 the daughter of Clayton Many Deeds and Sophia Archambault.

Noreen attended St. Elizabeth Mission, United Tribes Technical College and Sisseton Wahpeton College and worked for the Wahpeton Indian School and Sisseton Community Organizing Project until failing health forced her to become a fulltime homemaker.

Noreen was an honorary member of the American Legion Post 314, Sisseton, SD and although she spent 38 years of her life here, she was an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.

Noreen enjoyed doing beadwork and did such exceptional work that people from across the country and even Hawaii and Guam would ask for her beading. She liked to attend Pow Wows, with her favorites: Brookings Pow Wow, Grand Forks Time-Out and Sisseton Wahpeton Veterans and 4th of July. Her favorite drum groups were Northern Wind and ElksWhistle and favorite bands were the Butch Felix Band and the Country Skins Band. She was also a wonderful quilter of Star Blankets. Noreen loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, doing crossword puzzles and watching The Amazing Race, Matlock and Wheel of Fortune.

Noreen always kept a positive outlook on life despite her prolonged health battles.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon R. Redday Sr.; sister Pam Marmorstein; sons: Clayton (Dana) Crawford Sr. and Harvey Crawford Sr.; daughters: Victoria Crawford and Bethany (Wambdi) Gill; niece Vivian and two nephews Matthew and Michael Lauseng; one special granddaughter she was raising, Dlena; 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends and favorite pet, Chewy.

She was preceded in death by parents, Clayton and Sophia Many Deeds and one sister Paula Lauseng, Watertown, SD.

Funeral Services for Noreen Redday will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Old Agency Community Center in Agency Village, South Dakota. Reverend John Cloud III and Clyde Kampeska will officiate.

An all night wake will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 beginning at 7:00 P.M. at the Old Agency Community Center and will continue until the time of service.

Interment will follow at Buffalo Lake Cemetery in Eden, South Dakota.

Honorary casket bearers will be Shirley Seaboy, Lucy Kjarr, Phyllis Redday, Phyllis Quinn, Yvonne Bear, Marcella Cutt, Isabelle Crowfeather, Mabel Medicine Crow, Etta Brave Crow, Gerri Agard, Gale Brave Crow, Pauline Kipp, Mary Wolmes, Jackie Bird, Kathy Redday and Sheila Crawford.

Casket bearers will be Clayton "Shorty" Crawford Jr., Marquel Crawford, Harvey Crawford Jr., Aaron Crawford, Steve Flute, Stefone Crawford, Marvin Strong III and Anthony St. John.
