Donald was a great man and a tribute to the people of Red Lake. I had the honor of working with him over the past years on utility, road access and other improvements at the NW Angle. His wisdom, generosity, and guidance affected us all. I will certainly miss his counsel. Al Lundeen Wiktel.

From a co-worker, I had heard about many great passions Don May had initiated and further engaged many other band members in, for the betterment of Red Lake. I pray that others, will continue his positive work, be it with treaty rights, and tribal drinking water and wastewater concerns. Don will be sadly missed, but not forgotten. May his passions continue to be sought and come to fruition by others.
