Sarah Jean Smith, age 60, of Minneapolis Journeyed to the Spirit World on March 3, 2014 at her residence.

She was born on December 27, 1953 in Red Lake the daughter of Michael Smith and Anna May.

Sarah liked to read, she was a traditional dancer, liked to travel, liked to go to the lake, pow-wows, loved her grandchildren and talking to her sisters, liked wild rice and Indian tacos. She loved her jewelry especially her turquoise. She will be truly missed by her loving family. They will always love her and she will remain in their hearts.

She was formerly employed as a cook at the Redby Treatment Center.

Survived by a son: John Smith; daughters: Audrea Smith and Vanessa Smith; thirteen grandchildren; sisters: Gloria Jourdain and Lucille Van Antwerp; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Joyce Boldra and Alberta Smith; brother: Pete Jourdain.

Funeral services for Sarah Smith will be held on Friday, March 7th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Lake. Father Jerry Rogers will be the Celebrant.

Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.

All night wakes will be held on Wednesday, March 5th and Thursday, March 6th beginning at 5:00 P.M. at The Red Lake Community Center.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Jeff Boldra, Sheldon Boldra, Eddie Jourdain, James Hazelrigg and Russell Van Antwerp Jr.

Casket Bearers will be John Smith, Greg Heinz, E.J. Smith, Steve Smith, Mike Boldra, Russell Van Antwerp Sr., Will Haines and Pete Haines
