Bonnie M. LaFriniere

(April 19, 1951 - December 21, 2013)

Bonnie LaFriniere, 62, of Roy Lake, MN, died Saturday, December 21, 2013, at her home.

Bonnie Mae Stevens was born April 19, 1951, in White Earth, MN, the daughter of Lawrence and Mildred (Hill) Stevens. She attended grade school in Naytahwaush, MN, and graduated with the class of 1969 from Bagley High School. Following graduation, Bonnie moved to the twin cities where she worked at Honeywell. On February 6, 1971, Bonnie was united in marriage to Kenneth "Beans" LaFriniere. The couple settled near Roy Lake, a home they currently shared together with their every growing family.

Over the years, Bonnie worked several different jobs. However, the one that she most enjoyed was working at the nursing home in Mahnomen as an aide for 20+ years. She was able to retire early and tend solely to her family, especially her grandchildren. Bonnie Beans was a fun loving individual who enjoyed camping, berry picking, gardening and going for walks. She also would often pass the time with games on her computer, watching TV, playing cards and working jigsaw puzzles. Bonnie was not one to turn down a game of Bingo or turn anyone away. Her home was always open to family and friends, helping anyone in need. She was a wonderful caregiver in addition to a great wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. She will be greatly misses by all who were blessed to know her.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ken "Beans" of Roy Lake; three daughters: Sherry (Steve) Halberg, Bagley, Carol (Harry Leslie) LaFriniere, and Nicole (Darrel Alvarado) LaFriniere both of Mahnomen; one son, Hawk (Jessi Gagnon) LaFriniere, also Roy Lake; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Connie (Richard) LaFriniere, Roy Lake, and Yvonne Stevens, Bagley; and three brothers: Bert Stevens, Bagley, Donald Stevens, White Earth, MN, and Ronald Stevens, Bagley. She was preceded in death by her twin in infancy, her parents, and eight siblings.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 27, at 1:00 p.m. at the Naytahwaush Sports Complex, Naytahwaush, MN. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at the complex.

Interment will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery, Naytahwaush.
