Auditions for "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" Set at Ada's McSwain Theatre

Chickasaw Nation Division of Arts and Humanities and the McSwain Theatre will conduct audition for “It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” Saturday, September 9, 10, 23 and 24.

Scheduled auditions will take place 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., and 3 - 5 p.m., and open auditions from 5 - 7 p.m., at the McSwain Theatre, 130 W. Main, Ada.

Production dates will be the second week of December at the McSwain Theatre.

During the auditions, actors, ages eight and up, will read from a provided script and may play more than one role. The director will be listening for distinctive voices, and actors may be asked to provide live sound effects for the production.

“It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play”, by Joe Landry, harkens back to the golden age of radio. Performed as a live radio broadcast in front of a studio audience, an ensemble of actors tell the story of George Bailey and the night he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve in 1946.

Presented by the Chickasaw Nation Division of Arts and Humanities and the McSwain Theatre, the performance is produced in special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc.
