J’Laya JureeJane Soukaroune, age 5 months of Bemidji Journeyed to the Spirit World on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at her residence in Bemidji.

She was born on December 9, 2012 at The Sanford Hospital in Bemidji.

Survived by father: T.K. Soukaroune; mother: Marta Valencia; a sister: J’Naya J. Valencia LaRose; grandmother: Jane Valencia; uncles: Bryan Fisher Sr., Frederick Fisher Sr., Duane Fisher, Douglas Clark Sr., Lorenzo Valencia; aunts: Carolina Valencia and Angelina Fisher; seventeen cousins; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for for J’Laya JureeJane Soukaroune will be held on Saturday, June 8th, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Leech Lake Facility Center in Cass Lake, Minnesota. Pastor Mark R. Olson will officiate.

Special music by “The Ojibwa Singers” and Traditional Drum Singers.

An all night wake will be held on Friday, June 7th beginning at 6:00 P.M.

Interment will be held on Monday, June 10th at 2:00 P.M. at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Crystal, Minnesota.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Bryan Fisher Sr., Frederick Fisher Sr., Duane Fisher, Douglas Clark Sr., Lorenzo Valencia and William Johnson Sr.

Casket Bearers will be Carrie Fredrickson, Carolina Valencia, Kelli Staples and Celeste Larsen.
