David Raisch-Day

David Wayne Raisch, 18, of Cass Lake, died Friday, July 8, 2011, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

A traditional funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 14, at the Veteran’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake, with Spiritual Leader Jon Weaver officiating. A wake will begin at 4 p.m., Tuesday, July 12, at the Veteran’s Memorial Building, and will continue until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Cass Lake, under the direction of Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

Pallbearers will be Ron Day Jr., Gerald Raisch Sr., Isaac Raisch Sr., Justin Barnett, Tremayne Eagle, and Ernie DeClusin.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Rueben Littlewolf, Reggie Littlewolf, Donnie Tuttle, Cody White, Jon Weaver, Blaze Wakefield, Rachelle Mitchell, James Jones, Chev Wind, Rob Gonzales, Pablo Cortez, and Gerald Raisch Jr.

He was born on August 1, 1992, to Christine Raisch and Ronald Day, in Bemidji. He was raised and educated in Cass Lake, attending the Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig School from Kindergarten through the 11th grade; he would have graduated next year. He enjoyed playing sports--basketball, football and swimming—playing X-Box, going on road trips, listening to music and spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his parents; brothers, Isaac (Heather) Raisch, Gerald Raisch Sr., and Ron (Trish) Day Jr .; sisters, Kimberly (Justin) Barnett and Alicia Day; paternal grandmother, Lorraine Day; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandfather, and several aunts and uncles.
