    BEMIDJI -- Sanford Bemidji Medical Center hospital and clinic were placed on a short lockdown early Tuesday afternoon. The lockdown was lifted at approximately 1:35 p.m., according to a Sanford public information officer. Sanford initiated the lockdown to protect patient, visitor and staff safety, the official said. The facilities were not in divert status, and people with appointments at the clinic or in need of emergency medical care at the hospital were admitted.
