    KELLIHER -- Officials confirmed Monday that a tornado touched down “several times” during a thunderstorm Friday afternoon in Beltrami County, damaging multiple structures on a farm about 10 miles west of Kelliher. According to a news release from the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, a severe thunderstorm produced the tornado in the area of Shilo Road and Corman Road at about 3:45 p.m. Friday.     The National Weather Service has confirmed at least one tornado hit Beltrami County on the afternoon of July 21st, 2017 and several other storms produced thunderstorm wind damage. NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center had portions of Beltrami County in an “enhanced risk” of severe weather that afternoon.     Road construction will begin on County State Aid Highway 39 (Scenic Highway), from County State Aid Highway 55 to just north of County Road 328, which includes grading aggregate base and bituminous surfacing.     The Beltrami County Highway Department will begin construction on County State Aid Highway 24 (Aure Rd) on July 24, 2017. The portion of highway under the construction is from the West Beltrami County Line to TH 89. As part of this project there will be a culvert replacement at the inlet of Whitefish Lake in which there will be a detour in place to guide motorist around this area.
