BEMIDJI -- A Bemidji man received a stayed jail sentence following a police sex sting arrest in March. Jerry Hemstad, 61, was convicted of misdemeanor prostitution in Beltrami County District Court on June 3. He was sentenced to 90 days in the Beltrami County Jail, which was stayed for one year. He has been placed on one year supervised probation and must pay a $200 fine. BEMIDJI — A man was taken into custody Thursday evening after law enforcement used a gas irritant to force him out of a local residence.
