  • MN Senate Republicans block vote on sexual harassment bill, saying maybe next year

    May 8, 2018

To be clear, the actual vote was on a procedural matter, but it fell strictly along partisan lines, and the Senate’s top Republican said he didn’t think the matter had been properly vetted to be voted on this legislative session. https://www.twincities.com/2018/05/07/mn-senate-republicans-block-vote-on-sexual-harassment-...

  • Home day-care providers are quitting over regulations like fingerprinting their kids

    May 8, 2018

Requiring fingerprints and mugshot-like photos of children whose parents provide child care in their homes are examples of the unnecessary regulations lawmakers say are causing providers to quit. “It is very hurtful to them to have a business that subjects their children to this kind of process,” said Sen. Mary Kiffmeyer, R-Big Lake. She said providers’ children shouldn’t be treated like criminals and required to take a photo similar to wanted posters hung up in a post office. https://www.twincities.com/2018/05/07/home-day-c...
